How do you handle tags for your videos?

I've noticed that some of my videos just aren't getting the reach I expected, and I'm starting to think my metadata strategy might be lacking. I usually just guess my tags, but I feel like I'm missing out on better discovery. How do you all approach this? Is there a way to see what tags top creators are using so I can at least understand the pattern?
